- Escape from Tarkov update brings in much-needed changes The MMO shooter’s much-awaited Patch 0.12.6.7456 is now live, bringing a host of new additions and changes with it. Battlestate Games kept its word of leveling the playing field for all users by wiping the character progress and equipment. There will be a global wipe of characters.
Escape from Tarkov changes and new features coming in next update
Update most likely will be next week. Flea market feature will be after 0.10 in an intermediate update (it's almost ready) 5. New content in 0.10 patch - SA58 mods, high chance of Mosin, new skill(s) 6. TerraGroup Labs will be the next new map and, most likely, it will be in 0.11. Medical animations are done by 90% and will be.
Battlestate Games, the team behind Escape from Tarkov, have revealed their update plans for the future, as they move to a work from home status.
Although the global crisis is affecting all types of industry, many game developers have been able to transition to working from home successfully, keeping their plans on track.
For Tarkov, lead developer Nikita has revealed that the next update, 12.4.2 will contain several major freezes and stuttering fixes. After this small update, 12.5 will roll out, which will include many more significant changes.
Nikita confirmed that the team is 'almost fully operational from our homes' so we're not expecting too much of a delay for these updates.
lthough we don't have specifics yet about some of the bug fixes, Nikita confirms that a 'quick healing feature' will be added for the end of a raid.

QoL improvements, such as the dependence of mouse sensitivity on the magnification of optics
The mouse sensitivity fix will come as great news for players who have been getting frustrated by the effect of sight magnification. It remains to be seen how exactly this change will be implemented though.
Fixes for stuttering and freezes is also exactly what players have been waiting to hear, showing complaints about Tarkov's general performance haven't been ignored.
Beyond update 12.5, Battlestate explain that 'further development of the project is divided into patches - 12.6, 12.7, etc.' Nikita also revealed that patch 12.6 will include some new content.
Concluding their post, Battlestate reaffirmed that 'game stability and anticheat measures is №1 priority for us.' They also revealed that 'a lot' of cheaters had been banned recently, and that they would continue to take a hard stance on the issue.
There is no confirmed date for either the 12.4.2 or 12.5 updates yet though, so stay tuned.

Tarkov: $45
I heard Rust is kind of like Ark where whatever you build or do can be destroyed/looted while you’re offline. And I work 4 day hitches so I can’t get on everyday. So with that considered would Escape from Tarkov be money better spent?

Rust is a terrific game, but the entire community is fricking terribly toxic. If you can find a good group of guys to play with (it’ll take effort) it’s a more interesting game with way more to do depending on your “play style”... you can hunt, build, PVP, handle electric, monument/scrap runs, trade, open vending machines, farm, etc.
So, if you can handle shitty 14 year olds “ReeEEee’ing” all the time and the game chat being borderline racists/bigots, then I’d go with Rust
One thing, make sure if you do play Rust you’re prepared for a pretty steep learning curve as well and Pvp is hella hard.

Rust is usually super cheap, i got it for $5 on sale for steam.

You can spend 1000 hours building up supplies, a nice base, then you go to sleep one night, fire up the game the next day and everything is gone and destroyed.
Nope. Not for me. If you put 1000 hours into something, you should be able to finally build an impregnable base but nope. You can't do that.

Yes you're probably going to have a bad time, especially if you are playing solo, I recommend at least one friend to play with.
They wipe everybody's gear and money about every 6 months or so and we are getting towards the end of a 'season'. Right now most people are loaded with money and go in to raids with the best gear and if your gear is subpar, you probably have like a 5% chance of killing them, especially being a new player.
With all that, it could be good to casually play to learn the game and the maps and when the wipe hits you can take it more seriously.
