This is solved by downloading the dll-fix on the Updates & Support page Good luck everyone. I took a look and I do have that exe at the following: C:Program FilesFludeDundjinnidundjinni.exe Is there something else I need to do to get this patch to work?

Looks like the patch is not quite Vista compliant I was hoping the patch was going to fix the problem I was having but looks like it did not. Was the patch supposed to address the following issues? Go into Dungeon Select Cover. I have options 1 to 6 Nothing shows up in the current selection besides the name of the items. If I click on PICK I get the popup to make a selection but it is all blank. I can click on different areas and it will indicate the different name of the tile that appears to be hidden but no tile is displayed and even though I click it I cannot get the cover to display on the map. This happens in different Packs and different types although all types in my dungeon pack are nuggered. I tried re-installing the pack and also downloading the latest pack as indicated in the Patch 1.07 note on the forum. Maybe I have a different problem? Thanks |
Kepli Mythic Joined: 01/04/2005 Location: Netherlands Posts: 16301 | Posted: 03/27/2008 at 12:08pm | IP Logged | Hmm, could indeed be a different problem Seebo, since this is what the patch was build to fix. It has fixed it with everyone else sofar, but for some only after installing the full DJ v1.0.7, not just the patch. The dungeon art is part of DJ, so you can only get that right by installing DJ again and then installing all the patches in the right order. If that doesn't work, you just send an email to the Store with all your purchase information and we make sure you can download the new full version of DJ. store(at)dundjinni.com __________________ You can never have enough vines - Vines are good - Vines help you - Vines are cool ... |
seebo Henchman Joined: 03/18/2005 Location: Canada Posts: 7 | Posted: 03/27/2008 at 2:28pm | IP Logged | Hi Kepli, Thanks for the update. So here is what I did. Removed Dundjinni and deleted the folder. Rebooted Vista and then grabbed the CD v1.04 and installed it. Then I installed patches 1.05 & 1.06 & 1.07. After all the patches were installed I then fired up DJ and now it is really bad. I have absolutely nothing I can choose from. The items seemed to be there but the screen and the pick lists are all blank. I picked up DJ from Paizo Publishing so I do not have an purchase order from fluid or paizo just a webpage indicating that I purchased Dunjinni back in Jaunuary 2005. I did purchase art packs but I have downloaded the new ones already but now I am having problems and it appears as though I would need the full DJ 1.07 to correct it. Any suggestions on how I might obtain the full copy? Is there something I can provide to confirm my purchase from Paizo?

The error message says: 'This installer is designed to install and AddOn for the Dundjinni application, but there does not appear to be an existing installation of Dundjinni on this system.' Yes, I double checked and Dundjinni is installed and does start. So what can I do? I am running 32 bit windows vista ultimate |

I also have Dundjinni on a window XP laptop and cannot use any of the art packs. There is simply no picture. What is the e-mail address to send my information to and I will try the suggested fix from Mindy. |
seebo Henchman Joined: 03/18/2005 Location: Canada Posts: 7 | Posted: 04/23/2008 at 7:25pm | IP Logged | Just an update. The full version has corrected all of the issues I was encountering. Admmoon in order to disable the UAC in vista do the following: Click the Vista Pearl (AKA start button) type in msconfig.exe in the search space and hit enter You will be prompted to give Windows Permission, click continue You will then get a System Configuration panel Click the tools Tab Scroll down and click the Disable UAC and then click the Launch button. You will get a dos window which should tell you it completed and just type in exit and hit enter. To re-enable it follows the same steps but Launch the Enable Uac.

You will want to reboot after turning the UAC off. |
Jenner Hireling Joined: 02/05/2010 Posts: 1 | Posted: 02/05/2010 at 12:37pm | IP Logged | You don't have to shut off UAC at all. I just reinstalled and re-patched my 1.04 disk up to 1.07 on a brand-spankin new Windows 7 64-bit machine without ever shutting it off. To get the .jar patches to work, go to 'Program Files/Java/j2re1.4.2_02/bin' Find javaw.exe. Right-click it, go to Properties. Click the Compatibility tab. Checkmark on: Run as Administrator. Apply. All .jar patches will now run without issue. (Note, you do need the DLL fix posted in the downloads) If you have any weird mis-alignment problems in Windows between the mouse pointer and the art, or Dundjinni isn't launching, go to 'Program Files/Fluid/Dundjinni' Find dundjinni.exe. Right-click it, go to Properties. Click the Compatibility tab. Checkmark on the following: Run as Administrator. Disable display scaling on high DPI settings. Apply. Dundjinni will now run flawlessly, even on a Windows 7 64-bit machine with a non-standard DPI setting and Java 6 installed. :D

My retail cd copy is updated in order, but the fantasy texture files that originally come with Dundjinni don't work. I installed Modern Streets and Classic Pack and they work fine. It's just the default fantasy set that is not showing up. |

I believe UAC was more of a problem with Vista than it is in Windows 7. __________________ Looking for map-making assets? |

I have emailed the store with my product info, has anyone else encountered this issue in this fashion and will a full install correct it? Is the store still responding to emails? Thanks! |

If the Store hasn't emailed you back by tomorrow, please send your purchase information to me and I will get you the download link for DJ v1.0.7. I am a very reasonable guy and it's very hard to get me angry, but your attitude here is getting me there. If something doesn't work well on your PC it isn't always the software, but usually a combination of factors. Stop blaming just DJ, because you can't find any other source atm. We are more than willing to help you out with advice and making sure you get to create maps with DJ. Either that or you can send a refund request to the Store. You have 14 posts on these forums and none of them is friendly, inquiring and asking for any real help (by posting errors messages, what exactly happens, etc.). This is the friendliest forum around, but I doubt many are eager to help you out when you keep posting messages like this. Seems only Arpat and myself have reacted and tried to help you sofar ... must be a Dutch thing __________________ You can never have enough vines - Vines are good - Vines help you - Vines are cool ... |

The only trouble I've had was reinstalling a 5+ yr old tool on a new pc. I'm just happy there is a solution because there isn't a better piece of mapping software on the market! |
seebo Henchman Joined: 03/18/2005 Location: Canada Posts: 7 | Posted: 02/18/2010 at 2:47pm | IP Logged | Hey Aracon, I have yet to purchase anything software or tv's or computers that did not encounter issues. This seems to be the way of manufacturing anymore. In the realm of software there are sooo many factors that contribute to the smooth working. The way I gage the software is function, which this has lots and customer support and from what I see this has lots of that as well. If I have a problem and someone actually talks to me quickly on how to get around the problem then I am really really happy. So I am really really happy with this software. |

Ptaching from older versions to v1.0.7 seems to be buggy on Vista. The full version v1.0.7 is available when you log into the Store when you bought older versions online. However, the Store is currently down and I also cannot use the old download link anymore. So you will have to wait till either becomes available again __________________ You can never have enough vines - Vines are good - Vines help you - Vines are cool ... |
